Common questions
I don't have an invite. Can I still join?
Not yet. Shodkk is invite only: every member is invited and gets Olakh from a member who knows them, which is what makes the directory and the Kosh trustworthy. Ask a family member or someone from your Samaj who is already on Shodkk to send you an invite code. If you believe you should have access, email us.
My invite code isn't working.
A personal code works for one person. A group code works for up to 20 people and expires after 14 days. Ask the person who invited you to send a fresh one from Profile → Your invites in their app. If a new code still fails, email us the code and we will look it up.
I'm not receiving the confirmation or password-reset email.
Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it still hasn't arrived after a few minutes, ask for it again from the sign-in screen (Forgot password?), and make sure the address matches the one you registered with.
When do I become a member?
After you join with an invite code, we ask the person who invited you for your olakh. When a member says “Yes, I know them”, you become a member. If the Samaj has chosen admin approval, a Sabha admin approves you instead. Your status in the app reads: Waiting for olakh → Olakh received → Member.
How does the Kosh work?
The Kosh holds the Samaj's funds: scholarships, medical help and emergencies. Any member can start a fund. Members make a promise; when a student is selected, Shodkk matches them and the member pays the student directly over UPI. The student confirms the money reached them. Shodkk never receives or holds the money, and neither does any organiser. Every promise and payment appears in the app.
Can I contribute without my name being shown?
Yes. When you make a promise, open More options and turn on Hide my name. The student, the fund owner and other members see “A Shodkk member”; only admins can see your name.
Who can see my phone number and other details?
You choose, per field. Open Settings → Privacy & Data to set each detail — phone, email, date of birth and others — to visible, connections only, or private. You can also turn off Show me in directory search to leave the member directory. Nothing on Shodkk is visible to the public or to anyone outside your Samaj.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile and personal details; money records, votes and posts others replied to stay, shown as "Deleted member". See the Delete account page for exactly what is removed and what is kept. You can also email us and we will do it for you.
Does Shodkk cost anything?
No. The app is free to download and use, and there are no in-app purchases. A Kosh promise is voluntary and you pay it to the student directly, not to us.
I found a bug, or something looks wrong.
Please tell us: email support@myind.ai with what you were doing and a screenshot if you have one. Bugs reported by members are how most of them get fixed.
